I’m a cliché. Geography graduate, geography teacher and travel enthusiast. Oh, and now I have decided to start blogging.
Hopefully, that is where the clichés end. When I travel I like to do things differently. Yes, of course there are the must-see places that need visiting, but, I get my travel kicks when heading off the beaten path. Doing travel ‘right’ is all about immersing yourself in the local culture; speak the language, see what you can find in the supermarkets and share a beer (or four!) with the locals in the bars that they frequent.
I have been incredibly fortunate to visit countries far and wide and when growing up I experienced living in both Germany and Switzerland. Living near enough slap-bang in the middle of Europe provided an exciting opportunity to visit places rarely featured between the covers of travel magazines. These formative travel experiences are what I credit with fuelling my desire to adventure.
Alongside my girlfriend, I will document our travel experiences, our tips and our mistakes! Hopefully, we will be able to provide a unique insight through our different travel perspectives and maybe, just maybe, we will be able to recommend some places that you might not have thought of visiting before…
